Pilobolus Institute Visits Barnard Pilobolus is a world-renowned dance company that performed during the 2007 Oscars. Two members of the Pilobolus Institute visited Barnard to work with the fifth grade. This page displays the messages Mr. Perrone's class wanted to send to our Pilobolus leaders. It was an experience the students won't soon forget. Thanks Matt & Emily!

Our Mascot: The Osprey (bird of prey) These pictures were taken on Friday, October 13 (yes, Friday the Thirteenth). The bird pictured recently killed the pigeon and decided that Barnard would be a safe place to eat his lunch. He munched for about 20 minutes on the roof outside the 5/6 grade hallway. What a lucky school we are to see our mascot without even having to leave the building - we're also lucky that none of us are small birds...

10 Ways to Go Green and Save Green How can we live lightly on the Earth and save money at the same time? In honor of Earth Day 2006, the Worldwatch Institute teams up with the Washington, D.C. members of SustainUS, the U.S. youth network for sustainable development, to share some ideas on how to go green and save green at home and at work.

Canoe Trip on the West River On Oct. 17, our class canoed down the West River - we spotted ospreys diving in the water for fish, carp that jumped right out of the water, great blue herrings, ducks, swans, and many others that I cannot think of right now. Good times were had by all! Check out the pictures below:
